Greenies are a chain of creatures resembling humanoid plants, mountains and rivers. It became my way of maintaining connection and coexistence with deep nature when we are set apart. My attempt to reach out to it and to share with others the experience of this conversation. I long for our permanent reunion so much it hurts me: hearing the call to get back constantly within my heart.
Life in a box, and many comforts we are used to, creates a wall distancing us from living with nature. We lost a knowledge and confidence for it when we forgot who we are: an immortal spirit, a divine particle, in oneness with our surroundings. From that came various fears and egoistic desires, which probably are maintaining such an unsustainable living habitat for most in the present, alienating us from our mother Earth.
Our bodies share the same source materials with the soil, our legs work as roots, our hair is antennae to the sky… Our arms are branches! When you feel a massive flow of love, flowers start growing from your heart… And so many other emotions we experience when we allow ourselves to connect with nature with empty mind and pure heart. All those feelings I dream of and I want to return to, as I paint. Inspired by shamans, who were so connected to nature they knew to change shapes and turn into various animals, communicate with plants, rivers and mountains.
I let my imagination go with that. Painting all these greenie creatures helps me remember and to live in a green natural world, while I’m recollecting knowledge and strength to recreate it in my material reality as well.
